Open Discovery Fellows

The Open Discovery Fellows pathway is a flexible way for students to stay connected with Open Discovery after participating in a program or expressing interest in future opportunities. Fellows may receive updates about research resources, upcoming sessions, student-led initiatives, and ways to remain involved in a community of students interested in science, research, and discovery.

Workshops and Competitions

Interactive programs and scientific challenges

From workshops and guest speakers to research competitions and future networking events, Open Discovery creates opportunities for students to explore science beyond the classroom.

Science Communication

Turning research into something others can understand

Fellows may create articles, visual guides, presentations, or other educational materials based on topics they are curious about. These projects help students deepen their own understanding while learning how to explain complex scientific ideas clearly and creatively.

Completed projects may be shared through Open Discovery's website, student showcases, or future educational resources.

Community and Mentorship

A long-term scientific learning community

Students join a growing community of fellows, mentors, and collaborators who continue exploring science through workshops, office hours, and future opportunities throughout the year.

Research Office Hours

Year-round mentorship and project support

Regular office hours for students looking for guidance on science fair projects, independent research ideas, scientific papers, coding questions, or general exploration in science. If a question falls outside our experience, we’ll do our best to connect students with someone who can help.

These sessions are meant to give students a consistent place to ask questions, receive feedback, and think through the next steps in their scientific work.
